Installation and wiring
Installation requirements
- Adopting 3/4NPT pipe thread immersion installation, supporting various installation methods such as sinking, pipeline, and side wall. Side wall/pipeline installation requires a dedicated mounting seat;
- When installing sensors, it is prohibited to install them upside down/horizontally. It is necessary to ensure a tilt angle of at least 15 ° to ensure the normal flow of internal reference liquid;
- The installation position should avoid strong water flow impact and dead corners of the tank body, ensuring sufficient contact between the measuring end and the water sample to avoid sediment adhesion affecting the detection.
Electrical wiring
- Standard 5-core twisted pair shielded wire with strong anti-interference ability and clear line sequence definition: red – power line (12-24VDC), black – ground line (GND), blue -485A, green -485B, yellow – standby (suspended);
- Before powering on, it is necessary to strictly check the wiring sequence to avoid damaging the equipment due to wiring errors;
- Waterproof and anti-corrosion treatment should be carried out at the wiring points, and the cables should be adapted to industrial scenarios such as underwater and humid outdoor environments to extend their service life.
Maintenance and Calibration
Routine maintenance
- Soak the electrode in clean water for 2 hours before first use for activation, rinse with deionized water, and then measure;
- Regularly rinse the measuring end with distilled water to avoid scratching the PVC film with hard objects and promptly clean the sediment;
- Long term disuse (over 2 weeks) requires dry storage and protective caps should be placed on the sensing elements;
- Avoid long-term contact of electrodes with distilled water, protein solutions, and organic silicon oils and fats;
- When the wiring terminal is contaminated, wipe and dry it with anhydrous alcohol to ensure waterproofing and anti-corrosion.
Calibration operation
- The factory has been calibrated, and it is not recommended to calibrate randomly unless the measurement error exceeds the standard. The two-point calibration method should be used;
- Zero point calibration: Immerse in a low concentration standard solution, let it stand for 5 minutes until the value stabilizes. If it exceeds the tolerance, calibrate it using Modbus commands;
- Slope calibration: After washing the electrode, immerse it in a high concentration standard solution and let it stand for 5 minutes until the value stabilizes. If it exceeds the tolerance, calibrate it using Modbus commands;
- Calibrate once every 1-3 months under normal operating conditions, and shorten the calibration cycle for high pollution and high impurity water samples.
